eFG% adjusts standard field goal percentage to account for the fact that three-point field goals are worth 50% more points than two-point field goals. A player who makes 40% of their three-point attempts is contributing as much scoring per shot as a player who makes 60% of their two-point attempts.
Simple, intuitive improvement over raw FG%. Widely used and well understood. Available for all historical seasons.
Does not account for free throws, which are a meaningful source of efficiency for high-usage players who draw fouls frequently. True Shooting Percentage (TS%) extends eFG% by incorporating free throw attempts.
Not directly scored in APEX. TS% is used instead because it is strictly more informative — it incorporates eFG% logic plus free throw efficiency. eFG% is implicitly captured inside TS%. Using both would be redundant.
