Offensive / Possession-Based NOT USED

Points Produced

Points Produced is a component of Dean Oliver's possession-based framework. It estimates the total points a player generates for their team, accounting for their share of assisted baskets, the free throw points they draw, and their offensive rebound contributions.

Points Produced = (Scoring Player Possessions × PPP) + (assist component × PPP)

More complete than raw points — includes creation and free throw generation. Part of a rigorous possession-accounting framework (Oliver 2004).

Cumulative counting stat (not rate-based), penalizing players who play fewer minutes. Component of Individual Offensive Rating calculation, not typically used standalone.

Not used in APEX. Individual Offensive Rating (which uses Points Produced) is a component of older win shares calculations. APEX uses TS% and AST% to capture scoring efficiency and creation separately, providing more diagnostic information than a single combined total.
