What It Is
Scoring Player Possessions counts the total offensive possessions a player uses that end in a scoring event — made field goals, made free throws, and assists. Part of Dean Oliver's possession-accounting framework.
APEX Rationale
Not used as a standalone metric in APEX. Component of Individual Offensive Rating calculation. TS% and AST% capture the relevant efficiency signals more directly.
