What It Is
Total Player Possessions is the sum of all individual offensive possessions a player is involved in: field goal attempts, free throw sequences, assists, and turnovers. It is the denominator for Individual Offensive Rating.

Not used standalone. The possession-accounting framework it belongs to is captured more completely through TS% (efficiency of possessions used) and AST% (creation of possessions for teammates).
