Three solid trend lines thread through all seasons: median (gray), most ethical boundary (green), least ethical (red). Shaded fill traces how the spread itself drifts. Named players anchor the top and bottom of each spine.

Every qualified player as a dot per season — plotted at their actual FTA/FGA y-position, colored by ethics grade, lightly jittered so density shows. Unlike the whisker chart (which shows boundary trends), this reveals the full shape of the distribution: how tightly players cluster, where the grade bands sit in absolute terms each year, and whether the league is converging or spreading out.
